‘A Very Good Book’: Amazon.com acquires ‘Good Books’ series by Pulitzer Prize-winning author of ‘The Good Wife’
Amazon.co.uk (AMZN) , the world’s biggest online retailer, has purchased a book by Pulitzer-winning fiction author William Gibson, “A Very Bad Book.”
The purchase comes just days after Amazon.tv announced that it has acquired “A Good Book” by Gibson, as well as “The Unbearable Lightness of Being” by Cormac McCarthy.
“Avery” is a novel that focuses on the life of a woman who finds herself in a situation where she’s trapped in a world that’s no longer hers.
The book will be available for free to Kindle and Apple devices.
Gibson, who has also written a number of best-selling books including “Tales from the Crypt,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” “The Long Goodbye” and “A Confederacy of Dunces,” will also write a book for children.
Gibson’s most recent book, “Fargo,” came out in October.
His new book, based on the 2014 novel by James Patterson, is being marketed as a “best-selling children’s book.”
